'THE ART OF ETIQUETTE'
FOR AGES 5-17

Etiquette Consultant Diana Olson To Present Monthly Classes January - May 2008

Want to help your children and teenagers polish their social skills? Consider enrolling them in The Art of Etiquette at Montage Laguna Beach, a one-day interactive life-skills tutorial designed specifically for ages 5-17. While children attend the class, parents can schedule spa treatments and a poolside lunch at Spa Montage.

WHAT: Etiquette and Image Consultant Diana Olson, a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington whose clients include Emma Roberts, the teen detective in the film "Nancy Drew," and "Dancing with the Stars" notables Lisa Rinna and Mel B, will lead a four-part petite etiquette course once per month at the oceanfront resort that consists of:

I. Introductions: How to introduce yourself to peers and adults; how to use name tags at a social function; good posture and how to sit, walk and stand
II. Art of Conversation: How to overcome shyness, make eye contact, and carry on conversations at a party, with adults and on the telephone
III. Dining Etiquette: Understanding table settings and seating plans; how to read menus, serve from a punchbowl and more
IV. Tutorial Luncheon: An interactive luncheon to put into practice proper use of place cards, flatware, napkins and glassware; how to serve yourself and others; tips on tipping; do's and don'ts of table manners for home and restaurant dining; thanking your host and hostess, and more

The course is $225 per child, which includes the luncheon. No tennis shoes, shorts or jeans, please. Space is limited; information and reservations are available through Paintbox, the resort's club for children, 949-715-6005.

WHY: Good manners are the foundation for social and business settings: overcoming shyness, perfecting the art of conversation and exhibiting proper table manners, especially at an early age, build confidence and self esteem and encourage comfort and leadership in virtually any social situation.

WHEN: The Art of Etiquette will be held one Sunday per month, January 13, February 10, March 9, April 20 and May 25, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
